Mother Madeline “Babe” Wheeler was called to her heavenly home by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital Newburgh Campus Newburgh, New York. She left graciously with the support of her children, grandchildren, sisters and other family members by her bedside. Madeline was born August 2, 1924 in New York City, New York to the union of the late Isaac Jones and Fannie Jordan. This is where she met and married Harvey Parker. Madeline lived a happy life showing love in a humble manner, she was 84 years old and was a lifelong resident of Newburgh. She attended the Newburgh Schools. She was a Home Manager and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Newburgh for 50 years where she served on the Mother’s Board Ministry, Senior Choir and Outreach Ministry. She is survived by Three sons, Harvey J. Parker of Schenectady, New York, Reverend Dr. Rudolph Parker and wife Marie of Sacramento, California and Louis Wheeler of Newburgh; Six daughters, Gloria Johnson, Della Brown and husband Reverend Harry Brown, Jr., Anita Wheeler and Donna Marion and husband Deacon Quillar all of Newburgh, Delores Cole and husband Ronald of East Brunswick, New Jersey and Sarah Monroe of Sacramento, California; One brother, Eugene Wilkins and wife Lucille of Newburgh; Two sisters, Ida Green of New Windsor, New York and Pauline Dillard and husband Curlie of Newburgh; Sister-in-law, Ernestine Jones of Newburgh; Forty five grandchildren, Thirty eight great grandchildren and Seven great great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was predeceased by husband, Harvey Parker, parents, sons, Burton Harrison and Samuel Wheeler, two brothers, Edwin Jones and Rudolph Jones and sister, Thelma Johnson. |
