Elsie Ruiz a twenty four year resident of Beacon, New York went home to be with the Lord on Sunday January 27, 2008 at home. She was 77 years old. Elsie was born on May 13, 1930 in Manhattan, New York to the late Leonard Figueroa and Martha Lopez. She worked at Wassaic Developmental Center until she happily retired in 1988. She was a member of By God’s Grace Ministries in Beacon, New York. She was a wonderful mother, aunt, sister, grandmother, great and great great grandmother. She was survived by her two daughters, Evangelist Cynthia Chamber of Beacon, New York and Pastor Carolyn McGill of Poughkeepsie, New York; Sister, Martha Morales of Poughkeepsie, New York; Brother, George Herrera of Bronx, New York. She also left to mourn 10 grandchildren, 32 greatgrands and 3 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will take place on Monday, February 4, 2008 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Rhodes Funeral Homes, 43 Fairview Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. A second visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Holy Light Pentecostal Church, 33 S. Clover Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Funeral Service will follow beginning at 11:00 AM.
