The Black Knights opened the game on an 8-2 run that was capped by an Oertner lay-in 3:49 into the game. Army built its lead to 11, at 17-6, after Hazlett hit a jumper, scoring her eighth point of the game with 13:20 left in the frame. The hosts didn’t let Lehigh come within fewer than seven points for the rest of the half, building their lead to as many as 17 at the 3:11 mark. Hazlett and Minato each netted eight points, including two three-pointers apiece, during an 8:38 span to give the Black Knights the 17-point cushion, at 41-24. The Mountain Hawks outscored Army 4-1 over the last 2:55 of the first half, with the Black Knights taking a 42-28 lead into the break.

Hazlett picked up the second half in a similar fashion, accounting for four of Army’s first six points to begin the stanza. Trailing 48-31 after 1:48 of action in the second half, the Mountain Hawks quickly chipped away at the Black Knight lead, using a 16-4 over a 6:19 span to pull to within five at 52-47. Six Lehigh players scored during the run, including Sharlow and senior Hilary Weaver, who each recorded four during the stretch.

Army registered six of the game’s next eight points to momentarily halt Lehigh’s comeback, but the Mountain Hawks received two lay-ups from to once again pull to within five, this time with 7:34 left in regulation. Lehigh attempted to regain its early-half momentum, but Army outscored them 10-9 down the stretch.
