Newburgh - Recently the Harlem Wizards and Meadow Hill Global Explorations School teachers gave each other a run for their money during the annual Harlem Wizards vs. Meadow Hill Eagles basketball game held at Newburgh Free Academy. The event brings students, staff, and family members together for a fun-filled evening of laughs and entertainment. The Harlem Wizards, best known for their basketball skills, are also notorious for their crowd interaction and basketball tricks. According to Meadow Hill Assistant Principal Lisa Nazzaro, the event is popular with students and families and usually sells out every year.
This year the event included the opening National Anthem performed by Julianne and Frankie Csorba, a cheerleading exhibition by the Kindergarten through fourth grade cheerleading squad, and a special halftime show performed by the cheerleaders and the Wizards. During the halftime show, a winner was awarded with a week at the Harlem Wizards Basketball Camp, which will be held at Meadow Hill School this summer. Following the game, Wizards players held a free autograph session for the delighted young fans in attendance.
