Hawks Drop Two Games Over The Weekend

BEACON - This past weekend the Hawks dropped two games in a row and saw their record fall to 3-8 on the season. The Hawks traveled to Alexandria Virginia for a Saturday night game against the Avengers and lost in overtime 123-120.

The team then had to make a quick turn around and square off against their in state rivals the NY Strikeforce in a mother's day afternoon game. The team was defeated by the Strikeforce 124-112 in a tightly contested NPBL match up. Prince Jackson of the NY Strikeforce led all scorers with 24 points, followed by Carl Lee with 23 points and Brandon Weldon with 17. Hawks leading contributors for the game were Willie Coleman with 22 points and 5 assists, Amseshem Foluke-Henderson with 19 points and 5 rebounds, and Tay Fisher with 17 points 4 assists and 2 steals. Hawks big men Kevin Pegram and Dayshawn Wright were in foul trouble throughout most of the game but still managed to contribute. Pegram led the Hawks with 13 rebounds and Wright had 10 rebounds and 4 blocks.

The game was a tale of two half's with the Hawks controlling the game in the first half and the Strikeforce controlling things in the second half. The Hawks had a 55-39 lead at the end of the first half but the Strikeforce came out and turned things around in the second half evening up the score at 80 points a piece by the end of the third quarter.  

The Hawks look to bounce back from their losses this next weekend, May 23rd 7pm at Beacon High School as they take on the Delaware Destroyers
