KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The State University of New York at New Paltz men’s basketball team earned the 2013-14 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award as a result of a 3.11 cumulative grade-point average through the spring 2014 semester, as announced Wednesday by the NABC.

These awards, earned by more than 125 colleges and universities, recognize outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better for the 2013-14 season. In order to earn the award, institutions in NCAA Divisions I, II and III and NAIA Divisions I and II must count the GPAs of all men’s basketball student-athletes who competed during the 2013-14 season.
