WEST POINT - Junior G Josh Herbeck tallied a game-high 19 points on 6-of-8 shooting to lead the Army men’s basketball team past Rosemont, 90-48, Saturday afternoon at Christl Arena.

Herbeck was on fire from behind the three-point line, converting 5-of-7 from deep. Senior F Jordan Springer, freshman G Kyle Toth and freshman F Tanner Plomb each added eight points to spark a balanced Army attack.

The Black Knights (6-5) used a 20-6 run midway through the first half to take control of the contest, turning a tenuous 12-8 lead at the 13:45 mark into a 32-14 advantage with 5:56 to play before halftime.

Army led 46-26 at halftime, and opened the second stanza with an 11-1 spurt to take a 57-27 lead with 16:01 remaining. Army’s lead never dipped below 27 points the rest of the way en route to its second straight win.

The Black Knights, who have scored at least 90 points in three of their last five games, made 48.6 percent (35-of-72) of their field goal attempts. Army, which shot a blistering 55.9 percent (19-of-34) in the second half, connected on 8-of-22 three-point attempts for the game.
