PRINCETON, N.J. – Sophomore Domonick Sylve continued to establish himself as one of the top hurdlers in the region by placing fourth in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.21 seconds on Sunday as the Army track and field team concluded competition at the IC4A and ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships at William Weaver Track & Field Stadium.

Sylve’s effort was his fifth NCAA regional qualifying performance of the season. The Long Beach, Calif. native had advanced to the Sunday finals with a fifth-place finish in the preliminaries on Saturday in 14.20 seconds.

Junior Matt Nulk also competed on Sunday in the shot put, placing 21st with a mark of 49 feet, 8 ½ inches. Freshman Tom Wagner placed 28th in the triple jump with a leap of 44-7 ½. Wagner and fellow rookie Michael Hutchins competed in the high jump, but did not register marks.

Senior Geryah White was Army’s lone competitor on the women’s side competing in the shot put in the ECAC Championships, but fouled and did not register a mark.

On Saturday, freshman Trent Kraychir also surpassed the NCAA regional championship qualifying standard in the hammer throw, placing 12th with a throw of 186-6.

Junior Kim Mallard led the Army women’s team in the ECAC Championships with a 12th place finish in the hammer throw (167-11).

Other highlights on Day 2 included junior Andy Ferrara running a personal-best 1:51.55 in the 800-meter run. The 4x400m relay team of freshman Michael Hutchins, sophomore Chris Michels, junior Andy Ferrara and senior Larry Choate also finished in a season-best 3:15.72.

Army’s select group of NCAA qualifiers will next compete in the NCAA East Regional Championships at North Carolina A&T State University’s Irwin Belk Track in Greensboro, N.C. on May 29-20.
