NEWBURGH - The Mount Saint Mary College tennis team defeated Farmingdale State College, 5-0, to claim the Skyline Conference championship for the fourth year in a row. MSMC finishes the fall season at 12-0 and will compete in the NCAA Division III Tournament this spring.

Freshman Breanna Scott provided the clinching point for the Knights, claiming a 6-2, 6-3 win at fifth singles.  Fellow freshman Morgan Holbrook also put a singles point on the board with a 6-1, 6-2 win at number two.

Mount Saint Mary swept all three of the doubles matches. Scott and junior Jillian Torre put the first point on the board, taking an 8-1 decision at number three. Junior Jaimee Lubniewski and freshman Ashlynne O’Brien secured an 8-1 win at number two, while senior Gabriela Murphy-Goldberg paired with Holbrook to complete the sweep with an 8-3 win at number one.

Holbrook was named the Skyline Tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
