Mount women’s tennis knocked out of NCAAs

Junior Gabriela Murphy-Goldberg and the Mount Saint Mary College women’s tennis team were eliminated from the NCAA Division III tournament on Friday afternoon.

Middlebury, VT - Making their third consecutive appearance at the NCAA Division III Tournament, the Mount Saint Mary College women’s tennis team lost an opening round match to Wellesley College on Friday by a final score of 5-0. The Knights finish another stellar season with a record of 13-4.

Wellesley swept the doubles points and clinched the match with wins at third and fifth singles. Junior Gabriela Murphy-Goldberg put up a fight in her match at first singles and had dropped the opening set, 6-2, at the conclusion of the match.  Senior Annmarie Llewellyn was on the board in the second set at second singles, trailing only 2-1 when the match was called.
