New Paltz - Kevin Milkovich will enter his second season as an assistant coach for the State University of New York at New Paltz swimming programs in 2010-11.
Milkovich will be responsible for recruiting swimmers from Sections 1, 2, 4 and 9 in New York in addition to his on-deck duties of coaching the IMers. Milkovich is also charged with developing a weightlifting program.
"I’m thrilled to have Kevin join us for another year," head swimming coach Scott Whitbeck said. "His knowledge of the sport is a huge asset for us, and we expect great things from him again this season. Kevin’s athletic abilities have translated well into coaching."
As a four-year member of the Hartwick College men’s swimming team, Milkovich enjoyed a fortuitous collegiate swimming career. Currently, he holds the program record in the 500 freestyle (4:39.87).
"I can’t express how excited I am to be coaching once again for the Hawks," Milkovich said. "We had a great season last year, and with our new addition of swimmers, we are primed for an even better one this year."
