New Paltz Swimming Reveals 2014-15 Schedules

By Brian Savard

NEW PALTZ – The State University of New York at New Paltz men’s and women’s swimming teams will compete at seven dual meets and four invitationals to ultimately prepare for the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships during the 2014-15 season, as announced Thursday.

The Hawks begin the season at the Union Relays on Oct. 25, and from Nov. 7-8, they visit Manhattan for the NYU Invitational. New Paltz squares off with SUNY Oswego on the road on Nov. 15 before a Nov. 22 encounter with Vassar College marks the squad’s home opener. Before the intercession break, the Hawks will compete at the three-day MIT Invitational.

During the team’s annual Florida trip, New Paltz will swim at the University of Tampa Invitational. Upon returning to campus, the Hawks wind down their season with five dual meets, the last on Jan. 31 at SUNY Geneseo. The SUNYAC Championships are set to run from Feb. 19-21 at Erie Community College in Buffalo, while the NCAA Championships are scheduled March 18-21 at the Conroe ISD Natatorium.

Last season, the Hawk women and men placed third and sixth at the SUNYAC Championships, respectively, while then-senior Chelsea Allocco qualified for her second-ever NCAA Championships.
