POTSDAM – Junior Chloe Wheeler got her 11th career game-winning goal during Saturday’s Liberty League women’s soccer game at Clarkson University as the Brewers went on to win, 2-0.

Wheeler dibbled down the left side of the pitch and floated a shot to the upper right corner of the Sierra Spring defended goal at 42:34. It was her ninth goal of the year.

Less than two minutes later, sophomore Lucy Brainerd got her third goal of the season when she floated her shot into the top right corner off a Wheeler pass from the midfield at 44:06.

Spring’s performance highlighted the Golden Knights’ outing on Saturday, having stopped nine of Vassar’s 11 shots on goal. Clarkson only had four shots with two on goal that were stopped by freshman goal keeper Stephanie Tapolsky.

Wheeler and sophomore Kamaria Coley led the Brewers with three shots on goal.

The Golden Knights out-fouled the Brewers 8-6 while Vassar held a distinctive, 4-0 advantage on corner kicks.
