Frontera’s unbeaten streak alive with win

Newburgh Free Academy sophomore Gianna Frontera continued her winning ways on Saturday by winning the Girls Varsity 3 race at the Brewster Bear Cross Country Invitational. Gianna ran 19:03 for the wet and muddy 5k course. Her time was the fastest girls time of the day (168 girls in three varsity races). Gianna ran her undefeated streak to six wins and zero losses. Other medal winners for NFA were Kalleigh Forrester, third place in 21:30, and Alex Messer, 12th place in 23:33.The NFA girl’s team placed second overall in their race with 44 points, trailing only Harrison who won with 41 points.

Up next for NFA is their home meet at Kowawese Unique Area at Plum Point on Tuesday. The Goldbacks will be racing against Port Jervis, Pine Bush, and S.S. Seward. On Friday, NFA will be in Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx, for the All Hallows Invitational.
