Sophomore Dan McCrea pitched six innings and allowed just one earned run, but the Mount Saint Mary College baseball team still dropped the second game of today’s double-header to Husson, 3-2. The Knights lost the first game, 7-0.
With the game tied at the end of the seven scheduled innings, Husson scratched out a run in the eighth against sophomore Ben Shortslef to take the victory. For the Mount, freshman Michael Matuk went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored, while sophomore Louis Peisel went 1-for-3 with a run batted in. Senior Rich DeRosa also rapped out a pair of hits for the Knights.
In game one, the Eagles knocked out freshman pitcher Joe CoFrancesco in four innings and went on to capture a 7-0 victory. Matuk, Peisel, and freshman Matt Prescia had two hits each.
