BUFFALO – The SUNY New Paltz women’s volleyball team (32-7) cruised past SUNY Oswego (12-19) in the quarterfinal round of the 2012 SUNYAC Volleyball Championship Tournament on Friday at the Buffalo State Sports Arena, winning by a 3-0 (25-10, 25-10, 25-13) score.
The Hawks, the SUNYAC East Division’s No. 2 seed, received various offensive contributions, as nine different players recorded a kill.
Senior middle hitter Dana Vosilla led the way with 11 kills and a .500 hitting percentage, and she also played standout defense, totaling two solo blocks and one assist block. Junior libero Carrie Hack paced the back row with 13 digs, while senior outside hitter Michelle Jacobson and sophomore libero Katy Herbst added 11 digs each.
SUNY Oswego, the SUNYAC West Division’s No. 3 seed, was led by Stephanie Bailey’s five kills, while Kelsey Ihle collected a team-high nine digs.
