Army Capt. Hardy O. Johnson

Army Capt. Hardy O. Johnson has returned to the U.S. after being deployed overseas at a forward operating base to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Operation Enduring Freedom is the official name of anti-terrorism military operations involving U.S. troops and allied coalition partners. Active duty and reserve component members from all branches of the armed forces have been deployed to support the war against global terrorism outside the borders of the United States. Troops serve in South, Southwest and Central Asia, the Arabian peninsula, the Horn of Africa, islands in the Pacific, and Europe.

Johnson is a human resources officer assigned to the 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. He has served in the military for 13 years.

He is the son of Hardy Johnson of Dodd Street, Rome, Ga. His wife, Catherine, is the daughter of Annabelle Rivera of North Middleton Road, Nanuet, N.Y. The captain is a 1998 graduate of Pepperell High School, Lindale, Ga. He received a bachelor’s degree in 2003 from East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, Tenn., and a master’s in 2008.
