Katt Named to SUNY Strategic Planning “Group of 200”

SUNY Ulster President Donald C. Katt.
SUNY Ulster President Donald C. Katt has been named by SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher to the SUNY Strategic Planning “Group of 200” Delegates who will participate in sessions to shape the state education system’s strategic plan.

The “Group of 200” is charged with elaborating, through thoughtful debate and exchange of ideas, the guiding themes that will determine the future direction of SUNY. Under Zimpher’s leadership, SUNY is now in the second of four phases of developing and implementing the strategic plan that will guide it for the next five years and advise SUNY in its development over the next decade.

The group will participate in seven upcoming statewide “Conversations, building on themes identified through the Chancellor’s 64-Campus Tour as areas in which SUNY will have a significant positive impact on vitality and quality of life throughout the state. Delegates will help translate the discussions at the sessions into clearly delineated “big ideas” that will comprise the overarching strategic goals of the plan.

The group is composed of a broad mix of SUNY faculty, staff, students and alumni, as well as community members and other external stakeholders in SUNY and the state. These delegates will serve as ambassadors for the strategic planning process, and key messengers and thought leaders once the plan is developed.
