Newburgh - Students from Klaus Solomon’s fifth grade class at Horizons-on-the-Hudson Magnet School in Newburgh participated in a field trip to the Newburgh Free Library recently led by HOH Librarian Juliette Reale. Once at the library, the eager students were invited on a tour and learned about the various areas within the Children’s Section of the NFL.
According to Reale, the purpose of the trip was for students to take advantage of HOH's close proximity to the local public library. Students utilized the skills that they learned last year in their school library in a real-life setting outside of the school building. Reale explained that the aim was to make the students more confident library users, and thereby the students will be more likely to make regular visits to their local public library in the future. |
