Children’s Book Series

The “I’ve Got …” interactive children’s book series team recently participated in Newburgh Barnes and Nobles local authors’ night open house. Pictured here are photographer Lenee Gordon, author Taryn Grimes-Herbert, and graphic designer Molly Pike-Riccardi.

Newburgh - “I’ve Got Plans,” said Washingtonville resident and children’s book author Taryn Grimes-Herbert as she introduced her new book by the same name at the Newburgh Barnes & Noble’s local authors’ night recently. Grimes-Herbert was joined at the local authors’ night open house by the book’s graphic designer Molly Pike-Riccardi of Blooming Grove and photographer Lenee Gordon of Bergen County . The trio shared the new book with shoppers, met with other local authors, and talked of their plans for additional titles in the “I’ve Got …” series.

The brainstorm of author Grimes-Herbert, the “I’ve Got …” children’s book series was developed to help parents deal with some of the many questions and social issues raised by children. The books, written in verse, tackle questions facing today’s youngsters in a fun, interactive way. In addition to the topical poem, each book is illustrated with beautiful photographs and includes activity pages for even greater interaction. The first three titles in the series are “I’ve Got Friends,” “I’ve Got a New Home,” and “I’ve Got Plans.”

“We’re thrilled by the overwhelmingly positive reception the ‘I’ve Got …’ books have already received from both parents and children,” says Grimes-Herbert, also an accomplished Broadway and TV actress and singer. “Being part of Barnes & Noble’s local authors’ night was a wonderful opportunity for us,” she continues. “We appreciate the support they give to the local writing community.”

Next in the series, “I’ve Got a Choice …” will be available this Fall.

Not regularly available at Barnes & Noble, the “I’ve Got …” books are available on Amazon.com and CreateSpace.com for $12.95 and at local retailers The Corner Candle Store in Washingtonville and Gotta Get A Gift in Monroe
