Cornwall - On June 12th and June 13th, the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum’s Young Naturalists Pre-K program held their graduations. Family and friends joined students in the Owl and Deer classes as they shared memories of their experiences as Young Naturalists through music and movement. The students sang songs about insects, caring for the planet and performed a bird chorus to the delight of the audience. The graduation ceremony concluded with each student releasing a tadpole into the ponds of the Outdoor Discovery Center, where the students can return to visit them as frogs someday. Congratulations to all of the graduates! The Young Naturalist Pre-K program is expanding and has limited openings for the 2009-2010 school year at the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum’s Outdoor Discovery Center, entrance on Muser Drive, across from 174 Angola Road, Cornwall. The Museum’s popular Young Naturalist Pre-K program offers three and four-year-old’s the opportunity to interact with other students and with nature in a hands-on and exciting way. The children learn their letters, numbers, colors and shapes while exploring, experimenting and discovering the world around them. For 2009-2010, the Program is expanding to six classes. For further information about this nature-based pre-K program, call 845-534-5506, ext. 204 or visit the museum’s website at www.hhnaturemuseum.org.
