Jane Smith Chair of the Dutchess County Democratic Committee announced that Daniel French has been appointed to serve as a member of the Dutchess Community College Board of Trustees. Smith stated, “I have been informed that Governor David A. Paterson has appointed Daniel French as a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Dutchess Community College for a term to expire on June 30, 2015.
Dutchess Community College is a cornerstone to the future of many of our young people in Dutchess County and I can think of no one better qualified to serve on the Board of Trustees at Dutchess Community College than Dan French.”
Smith explained, “Daniel French has a strong background in public service in Dutchess County. Mr. French has served as an elected Town Councilman in the Town of Beekman since January 2005 and as Deputy Commissioner of the Dutchess County Board of Elections since July 2006.”
Smith went on to make special note that “Dan French is a graduate of the University of Binghamton (B.A. History) and the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy (M.A. Public Administration), he is a proud alumnus of the State University system and I know that he is eager for the opportunity to give back to the system that has helped shape his career in public service.”
Mr. French stated “I am honored and humbled by Governor Paterson’s appointment, and I look forward to serving the Dutchess County community as a Member of the Board of Trustees.” He added “I am eager to begin working with DCC President David Conklin, the Board of Trustees and the students of Dutchess Community College to continue the college’s sterling reputation for excellence.”
