SUNY Orange On Display

MIDDLETOWN – From a new web development degree program to small-scale architectural models created by students to a complete rundown of financial aid options, SUNY Orange unveiled its entire gamut of programs and services for those prospective students who visited the College’s Spring Admissions Open House on Tuesday evening, May 13, in the George F. Shepard Student Center .

Nearly every academic department and student support services office was represented at the Open House, which was designed to provide information for those students interested in enrolling in an upcoming summer session or during the Fall semester.

Of the 290 people who attended the two-and-one-half hour event, 142 were registered as prospective students. Faculty members representing each of the academic departments were available to explain the degree and certificate programs, discuss potential avenues of study, and answer questions about transfer and career opportunities.

In addition, students and their families were given information on the admissions process, the College’s advising and counseling services, student activities and organizations, the Honors Program, tutorial services, and internship opportunities.

Student-led tours of the Middletown campus were offered throughout the evening, allowing visitors to observe classroom buildings, the new Gilman Center for International Education, the college’s state-of-the-art technological laboratories and stately Morrison Hall.

“This Open House was a success,” said Mike Roe, SUNY Orange director of admissions and recruitment. “It allowed us to provide the community with information about the many academic programs we offer, and that’s the goal. But, SUNY Orange is also committed to offering top-flight student support services, and it’s important for prospective students to see what’s available in those areas as well.”

For more information about SUNY Orange, contact the Admissions Office at (845) 341-4030. Online registration is also available by clicking the “Admissions Event RSVP” link located under the “Admissions” drop down menu on the College’s web home page.
