May 2nd, 2012 Spring 2012 firefighter class graduates in OC
Goshen - The Orange County Fire Training Center recently held a Firefighter Graduation Ceremony at the County’s Emergency Services Center on Wells Farm Road in Goshen, NY, where fifty-two graduates from three Firefighter I classes completed 92 hours of training over the course of 10 weeks to become volunteer firefighters. “We are grateful to these individuals who are choosing to sacrifice their personal time and that of their families while doing a dangerous job to help protect their neighbors in communities across Orange County,” said County Executive Edward A. Diana.
Orange County Deputy Chief James McCann served as the evening’s master of ceremonies, and Deputy Chief Jay Jones from the FDNY was the guest speaker. “Out of 62 counties, Orange County is proud to be ranked #2 for training in New York State,” said Deputy Commissioner Horan. “At this graduation ceremony we celebrate our newest firefighters and welcome them as interior firefighters to their respective departments.” |
