Caesar crowned Mr. HBCU

Justin Caesar of Newburgh, NY recently earned the title of Mr. Historically Black Colleges and Universities for 2012-2013.
Jefferson City, MO - On Saturday, February 18, 2012, Justin C. Caesar of Newburgh, NY, won the 8th annual Mr. Historically Black Colleges and Universities pageant in Jefferson City, Missouri, becoming the newly-crowned Mr. Historically Black Colleges and Universities for 2012-2013.

The pageant consisted of a three minute oratory on black men being the catalyst for the survival of HBCU’s, for which Caesar, who serves as Mr. Delaware State University, performed a dramatic monologue in an actual casket. The casket represented ancestors who were turning in their graves at the behavior and mindset of some of the youth of this generation.

As Mr. Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Caesar is now the face of all HBCU’s in the United States and Virgin Islands. He was awarded $1,500, a new suit, and he will be traveling to many conferences in the summer and several Universities in the next months to come. During his reign as king, Caesar plans on promoting professional development, re-establishing the image of the black man, and encouraging scholarships amongst college students and aspiring college students.

The second runner-up in the pageant was Mr. Tuskegee University, while Mr. Howard University was named the first runner-up.
