Three major unions, the AFL-CIO, the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) and the Public Employees Federation (PEF), have thrown their support behind Assemblyman Frank Skartados as they announced officially their endorsement of his candidacy for a second term. The AFL-CIO is the parent union of the industry and trade unions; CSEA represents over 300,000 public and private employees across New York State, and PEF represents 59,000 professionals who are state public employees.
Assemblyman Skartados has been a strong advocate of workers’ rights. “We know he understands the needs of working men and women, and values the work performed by public employees in his district and around the state,” said Kenneth Brynien, President of PEF.
"Many of these hard-working union members are an integral part of the Hudson Valley workforce,” Skartados said. “Whether working at a state agency or on a big construction project, I’ll advocate for them for fair wages and a safe work environment. It is an honor to receive these distinguished labor endorsements.”
