Goshen – Orange County Clerk Annie Rabbitt announced that New York State Department of Motor Vehicles renewals for licenses and registrations by mail can better benefit Orange County if handled locally. Local drivers who mail their forms to Albany, for instance, only return 4 percent of the licensing fees to Orange County.
"Continuing to buy local and shop local helps our local economy, including the operations of your local government," said County Clerk Rabbitt. "Did you know that if you use your own envelope and return renewals here instead of sending them to the state you’re ‘driving’ more funding back into local services?"
For renewals, please send forms to: County of Orange Department of Motor Vehicles, 255 Main Street, Goshen, NY 10924. Residents can also stop in at one of Orange County’s DMV offices, located in Middletown, Newburgh, and Port Jervis.
By renewing locally, 12.7 percent of the licensing fees stay here in Orange County and help offset the operations of the County Clerk’s DMV Offices.
