KINGSTON - Ulster County Clerk Nina Postupack would like to inform pistol permit holders in Ulster County that the form which will allow holders to opt out of having his or her name and address made available to the public became accessible online on February 18, 2013.
New York’s recently adopted SAFE Act allows a holder to file this form with the County Clerk to ensure that their name and address remains sealed and confidential. Ulster County Clerk Nina Postupack emphasizes to holders that this form must be filed in a timely basis, noting that "pistol permit holders have 60 days from the date the form becomes available to file in the Clerk’s Office."
The form is available on the Clerk’s website at www.co.ulster.ny.us/countyclerk or by emailing www.countyclerk@co.ulster.ny.us or by contacting the County Clerk’s Office at (845) 340- 3040.
According to County Clerk Postupack, "It is the goal of our office to make this form easily available to all pistol permit holders. Upon receipt of the completed form our office will immediately seal the holder’s documents."
