County Exec Diana on passing of Ed Koch

GOSHEN – Following the news of New York City Mayor Ed Koch’s passing, Orange County Executive Edward A. Diana released the following statement:

"Today, I join with all New Yorkers, in mourning the passing of Mayor Ed Koch. He was a true New Yorker and a dynamic and enthusiastic leader. Mayor Koch saw the greatest city in the world through a devastating budgetary crisis with courage and conviction and he was not afraid to make difficult and often unpopular decisions. His belief in NYC and its people helped bring the City back from the brink and started down the road to recovery and renewed greatness. His outspoken style, independent thinking, and commitment to doing what was right for the people, made us proud to be New Yorkers. May he now rest in peace in his beloved city."
