May 30th, 2012 Julian Schreibman gets Democratic nomination
Kingston - Democratic candidate for New York’s 19th Congressional District, Julian Schreibman, recently announced that he has been endorsed by the Sullivan County Democratic Committee. He was nominated for the endorsement by Sullivan County Assemblywoman, Aileen Gunther.
“It is my pleasure to nominate Julian Schreibman to receive the endorsement of the Democratic Party in Sullivan County,” said Gunther, the popular five-term Assemblywoman. “Julian has spent his career prosecuting terrorists and protecting our children and local communities from predators. We need a fighter like him in Washington to fix a broken system.”
“It is my honor to receive this endorsement. Congressman Gibson moved to Washington and stopped listening to the people he is supposed to represent,” Schreibman said. “I have been blessed to live the American Dream and I want to make sure that all of our children know the same possibilities that I have had. If you send me to Congress, I will take the fight to the Republicans in Washington who want to dismantle Medicare, who refuse to protect our air and water, and who are waging a war on women. I will always stand strongly on the side of fairness for the working men and women of New York.”
The Sullivan County endorsement comes following endorsements from the Dutchess, Greene, Columbia and Ulster County Democrats. These five counties constitute more than 70% of the population in the 19th Congressional District. Julian has also received the endorsement of the Working Families Party and from labor groups including UFCW 1500, Teamsters 445 and the NY State Board BLET.
Julian Schreibman was raised in Kingston and graduated from Kingston High School. |
