Assemblyman Frank Skartados (D-Milton) announced that the Mid-Hudson Library System has been awarded over $32,000 in public library construction funding. “Libraries play a huge role in our community,” said Skartados. “Especially during this tough economy, people visit libraries more to save money and use vital resources they might not have access to at home. With this crucial funding, Mid-Hudson families will be able to enjoy beautiful, updated libraries that offer much more than just book lending.”
Construction funding for the Mid-Hudson Library System will increase and improve building capacity, providing upgraded services to library members. Construction projects will restore and rehabilitate two areas of the Mid-Hudson Library System Auditorium, including installation of a new roof.
“Protecting and updating our libraries means that families can continue to enjoy important resources such as access to the Internet, tax-filing services, employment opportunities and public assistance programs,” Assemblyman Skartados said. “I will continue to fight for our libraries and the programs that our families depend on.” |
