Blizzard hits Hudson Valley

Snow falls in the Hudson Valley region of New York state as a Blizzard hits the area. Accumulations of 1-2 feet are expected. Hudson Valley Press/CHUCK STEWART, JR.
Hudson Valley - The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for the Hudson Valley region of New York state. Currently the area is experiencing snow and areas of blowing snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Law enforcement is asking anyone who does not have to travel to please stay at home.

The current temperatures in the Hudson Valley are around 19. Wind chill values as low as zero. Windy, with a north wind 17 to 20 mph increasing to between 28 and 31 mph. Winds could gust as high as 48 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 8 to 12 inches possible with total accumulation reaching nearly two feet.

Many local municipalities have declared snow emergencies including the City of Newburgh.
