February 25th, 2010 Newburgh City Hall Closed Friday
Newbugh - Thursday afternoon, Acting City Manager Richard F. Herbek announced that City Hall and all non-emergency services departments would close at 1 p.m. due to the snowstorm.
Late Thursday night, that closure was extended to Friday, February 26, 2010. According to Ann Kuzmik, Assistant to the City Manager, "it's the first time in my memory with the City."
As the area is expecting new snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches tonight and another possible 1 to 3 inches on Friday, that might be a wise decision.
Orange County has declared a State of Emergecy, and the City of Newburgh has a Snow Emergency in effect.
The reception for City Hall Artist of the Month Richard “Dickie” Peterson scheduled for Friday, Feb. 26 has also been canceled due to the snowstorm. The rescheduled date and time will be announced.
Councilman Curlie W. Dillard has canceled Saturday’s meeting time with City residents and constituents due to the adverse weather conditions.
The councilman will reschedule the meeting, with the date to be announced.
