African-American History Month Program



The Greenwood Forest Farms Association, Inc. announces the 4th Annual African-American History Month Program at the Greenwood Lake Public Library, located at 79 Waterstone Road in the Village of Greenwood Lake, New York, on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. "Celebrating African-Americans in the Performing Arts" with special performances by The Newburgh Performing Arts Academy (NPAA) Teen Theater Ensemble, vocal stylist / percussionist Kitt Potter, mime soloist Dwayne Lamont of the City of Peekskill Youth Bureau’s Performing Arts Program; Dolores Vanison- Blakley and Martial Roumain, award-winning choreographers of the Alpha Omega and Elco Pomare Dance Companies; Actor Keith Hamilton Cobb, and NYC casting director Sheryl Baker Fisher.

The program is free and open to the public, however reservations are required and seating is limited. Refreshments will be served.

The Greenwood Forest Farms Association preserves the history of New York State’s first African-American vacation community located in the town of Warwick, New York. Founded in 1919 by African-American real estate pioneers, Greenwood Forest Farms has been home-away-from-home to many African-American civic, business, cultural, social and political leaders.
