Middletown – As part of an effort to assist the people of Haiti, Orange Regional Medical Center joined other members of the Greater New York Hospital Association in donating medical goods to voluntary physician groups that are operating across Haiti. Palettes containing over $10,000 worth of supplies are being readied. The donation includes a variety of items such as sutures, gauze, bandages, exam gloves, trocars, graspers and endomechanical staplers.
These supplies are being sent to the Afya Foundation in Yonkers, NY. The Afya Foundation operates as a clearinghouse and conduit for medical supplies provided to voluntary physician groups located in Haiti and throughout Africa.
