Newburgh - On April 26th, over one thousand people will gather in Downing Park and begin a 5K walk through the City of Newburgh, to take a stand against poverty housing. A powerful outpouring of support from the community, evidenced by the names and logos of companies and service groups lining up on the back of this year’s t-shirt, indicates that Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh’s 10th Annual Walk for Housing will make great strides for local, hard-working families in need.
One name on the back of that shirt is Newburgh dentist Dr. Lane McEwen. McEwen and her staff will be donating their time to make money - and smiles - for Habitat’s event through participating in the Smiles for Life Foundation campaign. Now in their sixth year participating in the campaign, Dr. McEwen practice is ranked in the top 1% out of 1,000 Crown Council members in all of North America, in raising funds through the Smiles for Life program. From now until June 30, participants can save 50% on a teeth whitening service and when they do, 100% of the cost is donated to help children’s charities – 50% through the Teammates for Kids Foundation and 50% will go to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh.
"Our office chose Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh because we feel it helps not only children but also the community," says Melissa Clemente, a member of Dr. McEwan’s staff. "Habitat does great things for children and their families. It boosts the self-esteem of the children when they have a home to call their own."
You don’t have to be a patient of Dr. McEwan’s practice to participate in this campaign. To whiten your smile and brighten the life of a child in need, contact Dr. Lane McEwen and schedule an appointment.
