HIGHLAND - The annual YMCA Bridge Run is set for this Saturday, May 3rd on the Mid-Hudson Bridge between Highland and Poughkeepsie.
The event is set to begin at 9am and the bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic for a brief period.
The YMCA Bridge run is a charity event that raises funds for YMCA Summer Camp Scholarships.
Approximately 250-300 runners will assemble on the Highland side of the bridge for a 9am start.
Traffic east bound (Highland to Poughkeepsie) will stop at the toll plaza at 9am for about 5 minutes and then be allowed to follow the runners at a safe distance.
Traffic westbound (Poughkeepsie to Highland) will be halted at 9am for approximately 20 minutes to allow the runners to safely cross the bridge.
Runners will proceed from the bridge east on Route 44/55, turn right onto Jefferson Street and left onto Montgomery Street to the YMCA facility
Motorists are urged to plan ahead and respect the hundreds who participate in this worthwhile event.
