Dr. Lance R. Jeter elected Chief Prelate

The Shekinah Fellowship of Churches, headquartered in St. Petersburg, FL, has elected Newburgh resident, Dr. Lance R. Jeter to serve as Chief Prelate. Shekinah spiritually covers churches throughout the United States, Africa, Jamaica, Philippines and India.

The consecration services for Dr. Jeter will take place on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Baptist Temple Church, located at 7-11 Williams Street, Newburgh. Service begins at 3:00pm.

Dr. Jeter, a native of South Carolina, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, Masters of Arts degree in Teaching, and a Doctorate of Education degree from Case Western Reserve University. He’s earned his PhD from Jacksonville Theological Seminary and his Doctorate of Theology from ITC in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Jeter has pastored several churches which include the Eagles Nest Missionary Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma; Falling Creek Southern Baptist Church in Lake City, Florida; and the Sounds of Praise Pentecostal Fellowship Ministries in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Upon moving to Newburgh three years ago, Dr. Jeter has made an impact within the spiritual community. He currently serves as the Founding Pastor of Solid Rock located at 100 Third Street, in Newburgh, which birthed his other ministries including His Excellence Theological Seminary of which he is the President. His ministry has touched countless lives in the Orange and Dutchess county areas.

Because of Dr. Jeter’s enormous experience in church leadership, his articles on human interest were published in nine major regional and national publications such as Working Parent, Charisma, Christian Business Today and The Plain Dealer. He has authored several Bible based manuals that were praised by Dr. James Kennedy in The Miami Herald as "effective for today’s church".

Dr. Jeter was recently elected as Chief Prelate of Shekinah Fellowship of Churches and was recently appointed as Vice Prelate of New Day Fellowship under the auspices of Bishop Thomas Wallace. He received the 2005 Martin Luther King Jr. award and citations from The State of New York for his work in the Christian community. Dr. Jeter is a teacher, preacher, church planter and Prophet with a main focus on Christian Education.
