NEWBURGH - The popular "Taste of Greater Newburgh" will take place again under the big tent at Mount Saint Mary College from 12:30 to 2:30pm on Sunday, May 18, rain or shine. There will be a broad range of sumptuous samplings that reflect local culinary expertise. Experience delectable dishes from nearby ethnic eateries, BBQ joints, and white tablecloth restaurants, as well as a selection of craft chocolates, cheeses, wine and beer. This celebration of food promises an extraordinary assortments of restaurants and food producers, while you enjoy live jazz by The Sound of Greater Newburgh and an art exhibit created by MSMC Artists on Campus.
Past participant restaurants include: Avocada’s, Billy Joe’s Ribworks, Captain Jake’s, Cosmo’s, El Solar Café, Fresh Start Café, Gus’s, Hudson Street Café, Hudson View Café, Leo’s, Macchu Picchu, Newburgh Brewing Company, Red Ginger, River Grill, Pizza Shop, Ruthie’s, Wheelhouse, Wildfire Grill and more.
Tom Becker, the Rotary Club president and Fred McCurdy, the event chair, stated that the Taste of Greater Newburgh is the organization’s main fundraiser, which supports such impactful local organizations as Family Promise, Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army, Independent Living, Habitat for Humanity, The Greater Newburgh Orchestra, Rotary Inter-act Club at NFA, the Archie Stewart Rotary Scholarship Fund and more.
Non-food Businesses throughout the area contribute to the success of the Taste of Greater Newburgh and its fundraising benefit by sponsoring the event.
