Mount Donates More Than 800 Gifts for Local Families

Mount Saint Mary College students and staff collected 844 Christmas gifts to be donated to the local community. Volunteers such as nursing major Shawna O’Leary of Wingdale, N.Y. (center) sorted the gifts for transport.
NEWBURGH – Via the campus’s annual Giving Tree, Mount Saint Mary College students, faculty and staff have donated 844 gifts to Catholic Charities of Orange County for the local community
According to Alexander J. LaPoint, assistant director of campus ministry, 2013 saw the greatest number of donations since the Giving Tree’s inception four years ago.
“Your continued support made the Giving Tree a success,” said Fr. Francis Amodio, O.Carm, chaplain of campus ministry. “May

God bless all of you during this Christmas season and may God bless all of those individuals who are in need of support.”
The program was a joint effort between campus ministry and arts and letters.
