Newburgh community leaders to be honored

NEWBURGH - Living in Jesus Ministry Church, located at 119 South Street in the City of Newburgh, will be hosting its 19th Recognition Celebration of the annual Community Service Awards on June 9, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Newburgh Activity Center, 401 Washington Street in Newburgh, NY.

This year’s honorees include:

Regina Angelo

, a Newburgh City Council member for over 30 years who is dedicated to restoring Newburgh’s beauty.

Sergeant Richard Carrion

, an eighteen year veteran of the Newburgh Police Department and a leader in community conflict resolution.

Curly Dillard

, a Newburgh City Council member who has proven to be a leading voice for Newburgh’s vision.

Deirdre Glenn

, President and CEO of the Newburgh Armory Unity Center. Ms. Glenn also led Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh for the prior ten years.

Joy Pittman

, Director of Newburgh 21st Century Learning Center, who has acted as the head of the City’s Youth Bureau since 2000.
