As part of their December/January issue, National Geographic Traveler recently named their top twenty "Best of the World" destinations, and New York’s Hudson Valley is being touted as one of the select "must-see" places for 2013, one of only four places in the United States to be named.
The Hudson Valley is often called "New York’s original art show," a tip of the hat to the Hudson River School of Painters and the lush landscape up and down the river. Also mentioned by National Geographic are the area’s diverse cultural offerings, from the Clearwater Festival to Storm King Art Center.
"Our region is at the top of our game in attracting tourists," said Mary Kay Vrba, President of Hudson Valley Tourism, Inc. "We have internationally-known attractions complimented by our charming river villages and interesting local events."
Hudson Valley Tourism, Inc. is the ten-county region designated by I Love New York to promote tourism for the area. Regional information can be obtained from the county tourism offices, www.travelhudsonvalley.com, or by calling 845-615-3860.
