NEWBURGH - The Men’s Ministry of the Mt. Carmel Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ took their ministry outside the church walls last Saturday.
The group set up tents at the corner of Broadway and Johnston Street to minister to the public.
For more than four hours, the community was treated to free music, food and drinks courtesy of the Men’s Ministry. Associate Minister Beresford Hutchinson brought the spoken word of God in the afternoon.
Men’s Ministry President Harold Cousar wanted to do something special during Pastor Elder Dr. Thermond Herring’s 11th Anniversary. “What better way, and time, to give back to the community,” Cousar said.
The Men’s Ministry of the Mt. Carmel Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ plans on hosting more of these types of events in the near future. |
