Newburgh - Memorial Day is a day to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice. As people gathered to enjoy their local Memorial Day Parade’s and family barbeques, they were asked to please remember those who have died serving our country. To take time to honor our veterans and those who protect our freedom.
That sentiment was evident as thousands of people turned out in  Hudson Valley communities to honor those who gave their lives in defense of the nation.

There were plenty of parades and ceremonies in the region, as people of all ages showed their pride for America’s fallen heroes.

After a year without a parade, the City of Newburgh had a tremendous showing. Known to be one of the largest and most well-organized parades in the Hudson Valley, the Newburgh Memorial Day Committee has spent several months planning for the event.

With anticipation of the parade’s grand return, people gathered along Broadway early Monday morning to secure their spot and watch the many Veterans, marching bands and floats that participated.

At the conclusion of the parade, a ceremony was held at Washington’s Headquarters.
