Dutchess Countywide State of Emergency Lifted

Poughkeepsie - Dutchess County Executive William R. Steinhaus, in consultation with the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, Central Hudson and New York State Gas & Electric, has lifted the countywide State of Emergency effective 12pm today (Sunday, October 30th).

County Executive Steinhaus said, “Residents are still urged to stay safe and remain at home and off the roads.  There are still numerous issues that need to be dealt with ranging from downed trees and power lines to non-operating traffic signals.    Stay off the roads and allow crews to deal with the massive work efforts that must be addressed.”

Residents are strongly urged to stay home and avoid travel to allow public works and utility crews to handle damage resulting from downed trees and power lines.   Some traffic signals remain out and there is still danger of falling trees and limbs, which can bring down additional power lines.      If you must travel, exercise extreme caution and allow for extra travel time.
