Goshen - Orange County Executive Edward A. Diana and E. Moriah Beattie, Executive Director of Project Nevaeh, were joined by Sister Joanne Dress of Catholic Charities School of Goshen along with children from her preschool classes as they sought to raise awareness in preventing child abuse by planting pinwheels in the courtyard of the Orange County Government Center in Goshen.
"Children are our greatest resource, as our future is in their hands. It’s important that we take on the responsibility to guide and nurture them by providing a safe, healthy upbringing and by working together to prevent child abuse. If we can reach people early, and make them consider the consequences of their actions, then everyone benefits," said Diana.
"Pinwheels for Prevention" is the grass roots signature campaign of Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA) and its 43 chapters nationwide. The pinwheel represents PCAA’s efforts to change the way our nation thinks about prevention, focusing on community activities and public policies that prioritize prevention right from the start to make sure child abuse and neglect never occur.
