Pocantico Hills - The Hudson River HealthCare Foundation recently hosted their 5th Annual Cornucopia Celebration at Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills. The elegant evening of friendship, fine food, and silent and live auctions raised more than $125,000 for the HRHCare Farmworker Health Fund, with proceeds benefiting the children of agricultural workers. These funds were raised with the help of many key sponsors. In addition, Entergy has agreed to serve as the 35th Anniversary Premier Sponsor and Hudson Health Plan, the Title Sponsor. James Steets, of Entergy, will serve as Chair of the 35th Anniversary. This demonstration of support and encouragement of the organization and its mission is exceptional, and will ensure that thousands of children receive the medical care they need.

Honored guest, The Reverend Jeannette Phillips, Executive Vice President of Hudson River HealthCare, as well as Founder and first Board Chair, received the first-ever Cornucopia standing ovation in recognition of her extraordinary efforts that lead to the opening of the doors of Hudson River HealthCare (then called Peekskill Ambulatory Health Care Center) in 1975. Her significant contributions over the last 34 years have had an enduring impact on the health and well-being of the organization and the communities it serves.

The event also provided the venue to launch the 35th Anniversary of Hudson River HealthCare. As part of that anniversary celebration, Hudson River HealthCare will host several events in 2010 in Yonkers, Dutchess and Orange Counties.
