This summer, Hunger Action Network is working to end childhood hunger in Poughkeepsie and New York State. Everyone should be aware of a free summer resource that is available to kids eighteen years old and under - the Summer Food Service Program. The Summer Food Service Program is a federally funded program to provide healthy meals for kids during the summer months.
There is no paperwork or residency requirement; all kids eighteen and under are invited to drop by any of these sites for a free, delicious, and nutritionally balanced meal. There will be a kick off event on Tuesday, July 15th from 11:30 to 1:30 at the Family Partnership Center on 29 North Hamilton Street in Poughkeepsie.
All kids are invited to drop by for a meal, activities, or both! Parents are encouraged to call 845-454-3792 to find out more about the Summer Food Service Program in Poughkeepsie, and 1-800-522-5006 for the rest of New York State.
