Middletown - Governor David Paterson has proclaimed May 14, 2008 as Health Care Auxilian Day in New York State to recognize the dedicated auxilians who annually donate more than five million hours of service to their health care facilities and communities.
Orange Regional Medical Center ’s Auxiliary is an integral part of the hospital. The group raises funds through various initiatives that directly support a wide range of clinical activities, patient and family comfort and satisfaction and employee education. The Auxiliary generously donates their time, overseeing one of the hospital’s gift shops, a thrift shop and all community vendor sales. They offer support throughout the year to many hospital functions, including the yearly Golf Classic. Recently, the Orange Regional Auxiliary raised nearly $150,000 to help offset costs to refurbish the entire Critical Care Unit and its waiting and conference rooms.
“The dedication of the Orange Regional Medical Center Auxiliary is vitally important to the hospital. Throughout the hospital’s history, the Auxiliary has shown its support for our patients and the community we serve.” New York State has more than 75,000 health care auxilians who initiate, fund and volunteer for a wide variety of patient and family care services.
