Poughkeepsie - The Aegean presented a "Latin Debut Showcase" on Saturday, March 6th.
Billed as an elegant evening of Latin music and dance, the night featured award winning performances. Among them were Grammy nominated Latin band, The New Swing Sextet. The seasoned musicians of The New Swing Sextet brought their popular and innovative exponent of Latin Jazz, Salsa and Pop music to the Aegean.
There were also performances by award-winning and world renowned dancers Griselle Ponce with Garry Portugal, Eleanee Jimenez and Albert Smith from the House of Dance.
Event organizer Judy Batista, who promotes many Latin events in the Hudson Valley, called the event a success and thanked Aegean owner Frank Skartados for hosting the event. "I want to thank all of you for coming out tonight and I hope you enjoy yourselves," Skartados said.
Proceeds from the event will be used to host a special event for Dutchess County ARC, an organization that caters to area residents with developmental disabilities.
